The Tree House, Elephant Park Pavilion

Built

A single-storey CLT pavilion that will sit at the centre of Elephant Park, accommodating a refreshment kiosk, a new community space, WCs and a terrace overlooking the park.

NEW LONDON AWARDS 2021

Shortlisted in the UNBUILT category
The single-storey CLT pavilion will be the centrepiece of the new Elephant Park, accommodating a food and beverage kiosk, a new community space, WCs and a viewing terrace overlooking the park.

The triangular pavilion is formed by three volumes bound together by an oversailing roof terrace, centred on an existing mature London Plane tree. The design creates a seamless flow between park and pavilion, blurring inside and outside, enclosure and exposure, whilst embodying sustainability as a key design principle. The raw palette and massing will help embed the Pavilion within the new park.
