Gaia is a senior urban designer, researcher and educator, currently leading public realm and engagement projects in Central London and across the UK. Since joining Publica in 2018, she has worked on major public realm and cultural strategies to revitalise communities and urban ecologies within central London.
At Publica, Gaia has developed expertise in participatory engagement and inclusion, leading projects focused on accessible, safe, and inclusive spaces. She led the "Right to the Streets" project in Manchester, promoting active travel for women and girls. Her background spans architecture, urban design, teaching, and research, shaping her multidisciplinary and community-focused spatial practice.
Gaia also leads a design studio at Central Saint Martins and is a visiting lecturer at multiple universities across Europe. Gaia is the co-founding director of Fritto Misto, a practice designing immersive spaces and research around food, identity and belonging.
She holds a master’s in Architecture and Activism from Umeå School of Architecture, where her thesis was nominated for the RIBA Silver Medal in 2019 and won the Young Talent Architecture Award in 2020.
