New London Architecture

Reimagine London, Powered by PechaKucha

Talk

Tuesday 22 October 2024
18:15 - 20:15

Join us for this exciting PechaKucha showcasing the shortlisted ideas from our major new ideas competition, Reimagine London.
This PechaKucha celebrates innovative and aspirational ideas about the future of the capital, presented by the multi-disciplinary teams behind them. Ranging from the radical rethinking of London’s underground as an urban farm to reclaiming the city as a feminist laboratory, shortlisted ideas tackled some of London’s most pressing challenges including accessibility and sustainability.

The PechaKucha (ペチャクチャ) format was devised in Tokyo in 2003 by the English architect Mark Dytham and has turned into a massive global celebration of design, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. The format makes presentations concise, keeps things moving at a rapid pace and holds its audience.
