Matthew Harrison is an engineer and educator and the lead for engineering science at Mott MacDonald in London. He specialises in the design of high performance buildings including the building envelope, energy efficiency and human-centred factors such as occupant thermal comfort and acoustics.  
  
Matthew was Visiting Professor of Education at the Institute of Education (UCL) between 2010-2014 researching and writing on the professional formation of engineers. He maintains a teaching and research post at Cranfield University. He is passionate about vocational and professional education and chair of the advisory group for the Centre for Engineering Education at University College London. He received an MBE for his public service in engineering and education in 2018.
