The Active Travel Summit 2021 reflects on what the pandemic meant for the way we move around the city and the transformation of London.
The Active Travel Summit 2021 reflects on what the pandemic has meant for the way we move around the city and the transformation of London.

The pandemic has seen our streets changed more drastically than ever before, with an acceleration of pedestrian and cycling initiatives and a key focus on active travel. What is the legacy of the temporary streets improvements we’ve seen implemented in the past year? What has been the impact of the Mayor’s Streetscape programme one year on? And, with the 15-minute city model gaining momentum, how has it been interpreted in transport strategies across the capital?

As we’re getting closer to a full ‘return to normal’ following the easing of lockdown restrictions, how can we make sure we retain and develop the benefits of improved pedestrians and cycling infrastructure?

This summit will hear from public and private sector voices giving an update on London’s active travel priorities as the capital prepares to opening up following easing of government guidelines regarding lockdown restrictions.
