Hattie Hartman
Author and architect Hattie Hartman is sustainability editor at the Architects’ Journal. An enthusiastic champion of sustainable design, Hattie welcomes every opportunity to engage with practitioners in the UK and abroad who are leading the way.
 
Hattie hosts the AJ’s Climate Champions podcast and is a co-author of Energy| People|Buildings, RIBA Publishing 2021. She participates widely in industry juries, chairs events and lectures on design for climate emergency.
 
After more than a decade in practice in Washington, D.C., Brasília and London, Hattie joined the AJ as technical editor in 2006, creating the post of sustainability editor two years later. She is the author of London 2012 Sustainable Design (Wiley, 2012) and edited Invisible Architecture: Atelier Ten (Laurence King, 2015). She also guest-edited AD 241 Brazil: Restructuring the Urban (Wiley, 2016).
