Rikki Weir is a chartered town planner in the public sector (10 years’ experience), who has worked on numerous major development projects (such as Bishopsgate Goods Yard, Asda Isle of Dogs and the New Chinese Embassy). He has also helped to advise and approve planning regularisation for various cultural venues (E1, Tobacco Dock, Skylight Bar, The Pickle Factory, former Oval Space) including new premises, saving them from being displaced by development. He has been unique in his position, ensuring cultural assets are retained and improved, navigating all sides pro-actively, including creating a borough nightclub/ music venue map. He has also secured replacement of other types of cultural infrastructure and kickstarted policy protection for warehouse living in Hackney Wick.
