Learn about new management techniques being implemented and the importance of good design in tackling condensation mould in social housing.

Geoff Hunt, Chartered building surveyor presents the direction of travel of many housing associations and local authorities battling to control condensation mould following the death of Awaab Ishak in November. This includes new management techniques being implemented, the importance of good design to reduce the risks and the over-reliance on the assumption that retrofit projects will cure condensation mould. Projects for social housing need a new dialogue to guide the expectations of client groups to provide the housing standards that are sought.

Geoff Hunt is a pathologist specialising in the history of defects and the reasons they repeat. He is the editor and publisher of the defects timeline.
