Brent Cross West - New London Awards 2024 Winner
winner in the transport & infrastructure category
Brent Cross West is the first new mainline station to be built in London in over a decade. Led by Barnet Council, is one of the first local authorities in England to deliver a rail infrastructure project. Over 10km of track was reconfigured to make way for the 7000 square metre station, which provides the gateway to new neighbourhood Brent Cross Town.
The impressive new station has four platforms and a new overbridge that gives pedestrians the ability to cross this part of the Midland Main Line for the first time in 150 years, linking communities on both sides of the station. Trains connect Brent Cross West to central London in as little as 12 minutes, with up to eight trains an hour at peak times and connections to Luton Airport and Elizabeth Line services. New planned TfL bus services, along with improved walking and cycling routes, all help encourage sustainable travel and passive provision for the proposed West London Orbital has been incorporated.
