NLA is seeking an exceptional programme coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our innovative and enterprising programme and content team, delivering our busy programme of events, research, publications and exhibitions that represents NLA and London’s built environment community.

NLA’s programme and it’s family of brands and projects engages the broadest possible audience across government and the public to educate, challenge and create positive change.
 
From public realm to workplaces to London’s homes and more, NLA’s broad range of projects, research and events connects London’s network of professionals and enthusiasts, uniting the industry to shape a better city.

About the role
 
Reporting to the Programme Manager, the role involves supporting the programme and content team, in a number of curatorial and logistical aspects including event coordination, speaker liaison, preparing briefs and collating presentation materials; research and publications support, from insight gathering and submissions coordinator to proof-reading; exhibition support from concept to installation, organising schedules and diaries, writing meeting notes and client follow-ups and general team assistance.

Main duties and responsibilities, what will you be doing in more detail
 
  • Planning and delivery of certain events including copy writing and speaker invitations, briefing and management, and pre- and post-event communications.
  • Researching topics and developing programme content.
  • Assisting in the coordination of related NLA projects, including London Real Estate, London Festival of Architecture, Don’t More, Improve! And the New London Awards
  • Intelligence gathering and recording working with NLA’s Expert Panel network, committees, and membership
  • Support for our annual programme of research, including collation of materials, editing and proofing 
  • Joining internal and external meetings. Minuting meetings and circulating actions, ensuring actions are followed up and completed by liaising with various members of the team prior to meetings
  • Working with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure website, mailers and social media outputs are all up-to-date for events and that events are promoted in a timely manner
  • Assisting the Events team to deliver the events programme - including preparation, front of house support and post-event analysis
  • General office support, including filing, post, office recycling, and answering telephones
 
What we are looking for
 
You will be a team player but also a self-starter with an interest in the key issues influencing London's development and investment industries, as well as their effect on the capital’s built environment and Londoners more generally. You will share our team's core values by always being informed, rigorous, collaborative and responsive in everything you do.
 
Essential skills & experience
 
  • A good knowledge and interest in architecture, planning and design in London and related policy and regulations
  • Basic computer skills (Office 365 (including Teams), Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom) - experience with Apple Mac OS is desirable • Good interpersonal skills and telephone manner and excellent standard of English
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to undertake other tasks and learn new skills
  • Precision, great attention to detail and exceptional communication and time management skills
 
Many of NLA's events are hosted in the early mornings or into the evenings, so the ability to be flexible around early starts and late finishes is essential.
