The Planning and City Operation's teams within the City of London Corporation's Environment Department provide integrated planning, transport, public realm and sustainability functions that meet and respond to the needs of the Square Mile's diverse communities. These functions are part of a wider departmental remit that also includes environmental health and licensing within the City, and the management of green spaces across London, including Hamstead Heath and Epping Forest. 

The Planning and City Operations teams, from apprentices and graduates up to senior managers, are diverse, proactive and pro-growth. There is a clear focus on shaping the City's built environment to increase inclusivity, equality and social mobility while reducing environmental impacts and creating resilient infrastructure. The team culture is positively solution focussed, collaborative and embracing of change, with an appetite for risk, research, radical innovation and challenging perceptions and assumptions. The City Plan and Transport Strategy work in an integrated way to drive a rapid and sustainable and inclusive transformation of the City of London. 

The team champions and is committed to delivering the New London Agenda's "Six Pillars of Placemaking" to secure a prosperous, sustainable and equitable future for the City of London.
