A senior built environment professional, Chris balances the management of Design South East with the development, delivery and facilitation of design advice, training and engagement. Chris led on the development of Design South East’s design advisory work, expanding its scope from the south east to the East of England and London, developing advisory programmes for local authorities ranging from cities and London boroughs to significant new garden settlements. Chris has also evolved a number of new advisory models, including design surgeries, and has developed Design South East’s design training programme to include the county wide Kent Design, an urban design summer school and member training. Chris chairs and facilitates Design South East’s conferences and roundtables, speaks at regional and national conferences and contributes to publications. Chris has a particular interest in and ability to foster and facilitate dialogue and collaboration across sectors and between local authorities, the development sector and communities.
