Chris is a former Deputy Leader of Hertfordshire County Council and was elected to Common Council of the Corporation of the City of London for Broad Street Ward in March 2013. He serves as Chairman of the City’s Policy and Resources Committee.

Chris has been Churchwarden at St Margaret Pattens and Chairman of The Trustees of the Friends of St Margaret Pattens. He is a former Chairman of the Broad Street Ward Club, a member of the Candlewick and Coleman Street Ward Clubs, Life and Council Member of the City Branch of the Royal Society of Saint George and a Life and Court member of The Guild of Freemen. In addition, he is a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers and a member of the Worshipful Company of Parish Clerks.
