Councillor Majid Rahman represents the East Greenwich Ward in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. A member of the Labour Party, he was first elected in May 2022. Between July 2024 and December 2025, he served as a Cabinet Member for Planning, Estate Renewal and Development – a role focused on shaping the borough’s approach to planning, regeneration and development.
Since stepping down from Cabinet, Cllr Rahman has remained involved as a cabinet assistant, supporting with ongoing projects such as drafting the Local Plan. Outside of his council work, Majid works as a business engagement officer at Goldsmiths, University of London. Majid holds a BA in Economics, Politics & Public Policy and an MA in Politics, Development and the Global South from Goldsmiths.
