Eleni is an Associate Director in AECOM’s Sustainability and Decarbonisation Advisory team. She is an Architect Engineer by background, with 15 years of experience in sustainability. This involved working at the University of Cambridge and the Building Research Establishment (BRE), including projects that set the strategic direction around energy efficiency and climate change adaptation. Eleni led the BREEAM Core Technical Team on the topic of climate change adaptation and resilience aiming to identify the strategies for resilience in the future BREEAM schemes. As part of her role in AECOM, she has worked with Local Authorities to develop their climate change adaptation plans and with universities to develop their sustainability frameworks, guiding sustainable and resilient development across their estates. Her role also includes climate change risk assessments and adaptation strategies for new and existing building projects. Eleni has actively participated in the UKGBC’s task group to develop the UK climate resilience roadmap and she is now leading two themes in the DESNZ’s Built Environment Adaptation and Resilience research programme.
