Margaret leads the Office of the Chief Architect, prioritising quality and excellence in design in the public realm and supporting the mayoral lenses of growth, equity, sustainability, resiliency and healthy living throughout the Department of Design and Construction’s projects.

This office also coordinates with the Public Design Commission’s regulatory review and with the Percent for Art program. It is also charged with enhancing and streamlining the Design and Construction Excellence review process, and fostering accessibility, sustainability, resiliency, diversity and inclusion in the City’s public buildings and spaces.
