Mark Jennings is an Associate at exigere with over 15 years of cost management experience in the UK and has held Chartered status (MRICS) for a decade. He has delivered projects across the health, science, education, sport and commercial sectors, ranging from major NHS developments and private healthcare fit outs to the largest biomedical research facility in Europe.
His education portfolio includes a Stirling Prize-winning university project at Kingston University, private school decarbonisation schemes and college expansions. He has worked with clients including the University of Southampton, King’s College London, Kingston University, the Francis Crick Institute, Hertford Regional College and Westminster Kingsway College.
Mark is particularly interested in how educational environments can better reflect the standards being achieved in the commercial sector, with stronger emphasis on sustainability, wellbeing and performance measurement. He believes there is an opportunity for the education sector to adopt clearer frameworks and accreditations, similar to BREEAM, NABERS and WELL, to distinguish the highest-performing institutions. He also advocates for a more streamlined and accessible procurement process for schools, helping institutions with limited resources to achieve better outcomes more efficiently.
Alongside his project work, Mark supports exigere’s digital function, developing best practice measurement templates, cost capture systems and training. He is particularly interested in how data and digital transformation can drive transparency, consistency and continual improvement across the construction industry.
