Martin is a Senior Urban Designer and Recognised Practitioner with over 12 years’ experience. Working primarily within private practice before joining Essex County Council, Martin’s background within transportation and development teams allows him to bring knowledge and experience from both a design, planning and movement perspective to projects.

Forming part of Place Services, one of ECC’s traded departments, Martin provides expert advice to a range of LPA’s both within and outside of Essex covering all sizes of DM applications as well as the development of design codes, guides and assisting with development briefs and site disposal. He regularly provides design training to Officers and Members and took a key role in the 2018 update of the Essex Design Guide.
