Michael has over 17 years’ experience of managing all aspects of Early Careers/Emerging Talent programmes. Michael has managed recruitment and development for Graduates, Undergraduates, Apprentices and Trainees for John Lewis, Skanska, Lloyds Banking Group and most recently Mace, where Michael led the management of over two hundred Graduates and Apprentices and Mace’s approach to utilising their Apprenticeship Levy.

Mace’s Emerging Talent programmes won consistent external recognition in recent years including Top Employer for Graduates in Construction and Civil Engineering from the Job Crowd in 2015, 2015 and 2016, Top employer for Apprentices in Central and Greater London in 2017 and 2020 from RateMyApprenticeship. Mace had the highest ranking for a Construction Company in the UK’s Top 100 Undergraduate Employers and won Best Advanced Apprenticeship at the School Leaver Awards. Michael also managed the donation of Mace’s unspent Apprenticeship Levy to smaller employers in London, the West Midlands, and Greater Manchester.

Michael has been part of the Construction Leadership Council’s Skills Network and the GLA’s Apprenticeship Advisory Group. Michael also had the role of Sector Lead for Employers in the Built Environment Sector within the Institute of Student Employers.
