Mina Hasman is an Associate Director and sustainability leader at SOM, based in London. She champions the firm’s approach to sustainability and wellbeing, encompassing a long-term vision for achieving excellence in practice. She has experience in a wide variety of projects in Europe, UK, Middle East, and Asia, bringing a greater understanding of the implications for sustainable and equitable design in different climatic, social, and regulatory contexts.
Mina challenges existing best-practices by developing systematic and design-based approaches applied in complex, international projects that prioritise addressing climate change and people’s health & wellbeing. Responsible for driving transformational change, she embraces multi-disciplinary research and collaboration to deliver solutions that yield long-term environmental, societal, and economic benefits.
As a recognised expert in her field, Mina has been elected to, and is actively involved in UKGBC’s Board of Trustees, RIBA’s Ethics & Sustainable Development Leadership Group, GlobalABC’s COP26 Task Force as the CAA’ Focal Point, CIC’s Climate Change Committee, the Architects’ Council of Europe Sustainability Group, WorldGBC’s Whole Life Carbon Committee, the CIBSE Intelligent Buildings Group as Vice Chair, and the IWBI Health Equity Advisory Group.
Mina regularly contributes to the wider climate change, sustainability, and wellbeing debate in her role as tutor at various academic institutions, as well as regular speaking appearances at many international events and symposiums.
