Rebecca is a skilled project architect and designer with extensive experience managing and coordinating complex projects from concept through to tender and construction. Since joining WTA in 2015 while completing her research thesis on engineered timber at the University of Cambridge, she has played a pivotal role in both the practice’s commercial and research initiatives.
Rebecca has led several of WTA’s high-profile collaborations, including a 41,000m² workplace project at MIND Milan and a 23,000m² speculative office development for Skanska in Seattle. She is currently overseeing proposals for a new office and dry laboratory building at Stratford Cross, London, for Lendlease UK, and continues to shape some of the firm’s most ambitious commercial schemes, including the multi-building development at Sugar House Island for Vastint UK.
Driven by a strong academic background and passion for sustainability, Rebecca has become a key member of WTA’s research and development team. Her expertise in engineered timber and MMC-based construction solutions has seen her contribute to pioneering projects such as GenZero, a new timber-based classroom system for the UK Department of Education, and the EU Horizon 2020-funded Build-in-Wood project. She also led the research and authorship of WTA’s 100 UK CLT publication, which explores the potential of cross-laminated timber in the UK construction industry.
Rebecca’s strengths lie in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, navigating complex design challenges, and ensuring the integrity of design is upheld throughout delivery. Her work seamlessly blends technical knowledge with a keen design sensibility, making her an invaluable asset to the practice.
Beyond the studio, Rebecca is committed to inspiring the next generation of architects. She regularly serves as a guest critic at the University of Liverpool and is actively involved in initiatives that introduce school and college students to careers in the built environment.
