Rodrigo is Head of Energy and Carbon at Greengage with over 10 years of experience working in building physics and sustainability consultancy. He has been involved in a broad range of projects across different sectors, from higher education and science and research to residential and commercial offices, both new build and refurbishments. 

During his career, he has developed a detailed knowledge of the strategies and principles driving the operational energy performance of buildings. This has been achieved both through his project work and specialised training such as becoming a Certified Passivhaus Designer. He has extensive experience of energy modelling, including detailed modelling of HVAC systems as required in the NABERS UK Design for Performance methodology, as well as following the CIBSE TM54 and Passivhaus methodologies. 

Following the increased interest in the industry on reducing the performance gap and achieving energy efficiency in practice, he has focused on providing advice to clients and design teams on strategies and practical solutions to achieve low energy buildings and improve energy performance in operation. His key areas of expertise include: Operational energy assessments, Energy strategies, Thermal comfort assessments, Thermal modelling and Passivhaus.
