Rose’s work focuses on supporting local authorities to understand and address the social and economic challenges experienced by communities. Recent projects have included inclusive economic evidence and strategies in Norwich, Brighton & Hove, Huntingdonshire and Hackney, and housing commission evidence in Waltham Forest and Camden.
Rose’s research focuses on the experience of Londoners in the face of rising living costs. She has written a working paper with the Institute of Global Prosperity at UCL to map shortfalls in Secure Livelihoods across London and built a model to understand cost pressures experienced by different families across London.
This is essential for thinking about London’s high streets - who high streets are for now and in the future, what foundational services and amenities should be provided, and where and how investment should be directed to support communities. Rose is leading PRD’s inputs to the Strategic Outline Business Case for the transformation of Regent St, Haymarket and Piccadilly Circus Public Realm, thinking about Regent St’s role as part of the national economy, and balancing this with the needs of Westminster residents, many of whom are not using the high street currently.
She's also leading the evaluation of a trial pedestrianisation scheme on Camden High Street, monitoring the impact pedestrianisation has had economically and socially, tracking things like visitor numbers, spend, air quality and crime.
