A Director at Hoare Lea, with a focus on healthcare, Sam Shooter has over 20 years’ experience in the sector, delivering major projects here in the UK as well as internationally. In addition to his UK role with Hoare Lea, Sam is also part of the wider Tetra Tech High Performance Buildings Group Healthcare Leadership.
Being an engineer affords him the chance to be actively engaged across a broad range of interests. He relishes the challenges and opportunities derived from the technical aspects of the work, and enjoys being part of the engaging social collaborations that exist on healthcare projects between clients, design professionals, staff and patients.
A strong advocate of the role built environment professionals have to play in a global society, Sam is always looking to enable situations that ensure we collectively respond to common challenges such as climate change and future generations’ engagement.
A particular technical interest is the digital revolution taking place in our sector, and Sam is always exploring opportunities to further develop our digital skills and deploy appropriate new technologies, all with a view to adding true value to the provision of care. He believes that tech is a tool to facilitate and maximise the opportunities for a simple purpose: for one person to connect with and care for another.
