Sharon Giffen is Head of Design at ECDC, responsible for the design of the new masterplan on the former Earls Court Exhibition Centres site, over 40 acres in central London. Leading the design proposals alongside eight architect practices, the development will create a new destination in West London with cultural venues, homes, workspace and public green open spaces at its heart. 

Sharon is an architect with over 20 years experience in both the private and public sectors, and has worked at all scales of development. As an Associate Partner at the internationally renowned, award winning architect practice Foster and Partners, she led the designs for the regeneration of Stockholm city centre, the expansion of Doha airport for the football World Cup, and projects in Melbourne, Beijing and Hong Kong. Transitioning to a client side role, she worked within Transport for London’s Property Development team and was a design lead for masterplanning, mixed use and residential schemes on TfL sites.
