Tom is Head of Sustainable Design and Associate Partner at PTE. He works across the practice to promote a sustainable approach to the design of all PTE’s projects, and provides project teams with the requisite awareness, training and support. He is a certified Passivhaus designer and BREEAM assessor who specialises in low energy schools, housing and masterplanning. Tom’s research work includes the Zero Carbon Hub ‘Performance Gap’ project (2013-2015), and he has authored a number of books including “Designed to Perform: An illustrated guide to delivering energy efficient homes” (2018). He is currently leading the design and site review process for the UK Government's "Building for 2050" project to accelerate the uptake of low cost, zero carbon homes. Tom is a Director of the Good Homes Alliance and is on the steering group for the Green Register of Construction Professionals.
