Ushma Samani joined Network Rail as Principal Development Manager for Major Projects in 2018.  She leads on Network Rail Property’s landmark projects, located in strategically and operationally complex environments, with focus on land value capture through planning gain, land assembly and bringing together strategic stakeholder partnerships and engagement.  

 

Ushma has a private sector background specialising in mixed-use urban regeneration; practicing as an architect, then trained as a chartered surveyor, moving in-house to Westfield Ltd before joining Network Rail Property.  She has recently ended her tenure as expert advisor to the Design Council and regularly speaks at industry events.
