Discover Bankside's vibrant regeneration on a walk from Southwark to London Bridge and explore the, exploring iconic landmarks, innovative architecture and people behind them. 
Sitting just south of the river, Bankside has found its new identity in large-scale public and private projects dating from the Millennium. Weaving through the once-forgotten back streets and bustling pedestrian thoroughfares, this tour takes you from Southwark station to London Bridge, exploring Bankside's regeneration.
 
On the tour we'll visit modern landmarks such as the Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern and the Shard, alongside the redesigned Jubilee Line Southwark station (MJP Architects) and the cantilevered Palestra building (Will Alsop). we'll also be able to celebrate architecture throughout the years - from a maze of brick-lined railway viaducts overhead to alleys below connecting new hubs of creativity, entertainment and industry, such as the Music Box (Spaarc Architecture), Bear Lane (Panter Hudspit) and Neo Bankside (Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners).

The route can easily be step-free and is wheelchair-friendly, with planned minor diversions, although some areas may have uneven pavements and cobbles.  Alternative routes are available if required. Please email events@nla.london for further detail.
