Future Streets – what will streets look like in 2050? Powered by PechaKucha

Talk

Monday 02 December 2019
18:30 - 20:00

What does the future of our streets look like in an era of disruption and technological change? Join NLA for a night of quick-fired presentations of projects, products and strategies that will change the way we move around the city and ultimately how we design our streets.
We will hear thought-provoking presentations that will present possible future scenarios, taking into consideration advances into new mobility technologies that will allow us to re-think the space of the streets and its uses.

The format, PechaKucha (ペチャクチャ), was devised in Tokyo in 2003 by the English architect Mark Dytham and has turned into a massive global celebration of design, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. The format makes presentations concise, keeps things moving at a rapid pace and holds its audience.

Part of the NLA Future Streets research, exhibition and events series.

Ticket Information

For ten years we have tracked the data of no-shows at our events. So that we don’t deny places to those who really want to attend we do overbook based on our experience. Our calculations are usually pretty accurate but sometimes we do have to turn away latecomers.

If you experience any issues whilst making a booking please contact Beatriz Chivite or call 020 7636 4044.
