Soho Queer History - Walking Tour

Tour

Saturday 21 June 2025
14:00 - 16:00

Explore the vast and complex history of LGBTQ+ life in London, with stories of the iconic people and places who have shaped the city and community.
Weaving through the streets of London’s West End, on this tour performer, curator and tour guide, Mark will share stories of some of London’s pioneering drag queens from the 1700’s, the secret gay soirées of the 1920’s, and the infamous development of Soho -  one of the world’s best loved queer neighbourhoods.

Today the LGBTQ+ community’s presence can be seen across every borough and street in London. Though many inequalities still exist, we take pride in a community which has been through so much, from repression and persecution, to violence and discrimination, yet continues to strive towards bringing equality and inclusivity to all. Celebrate the queer history in London with us!

This walk is led by performer, curator and tour guide, Mark T Cox.
