Join this study tour of The Black & White Building to hear from Waugh Thistleton about London's tallest, fully engineered timber office building.
Located in the heart of Shoreditch, the hybrid structure of The Black and White Building combines a beech LVL frame with CLT slabs to create vast, open workspaces that span across seven storeys. Characterized by its integrity to material, formal simplicity, and adaptable layout, the Black and White Building sets a powerful new standard for carbon conscious design.
The recipient of both an RIBA London and National Award, RIBA’s Client of the Year Award; the Mayor’s Prize and Workplace Award at the NLA Awards 2023; the Architectural Review Future Project Award in 2022; and shortlisted for both Office Building of the Year and Sustainable Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival, The Black & White Building showcases the incredible potential of environmentally sensitive.
Andrew Waugh, Co-founder and Director at Waugh Thistleton Architects will give an introduction to the project and then lead the tour to answer any questions attendees have.
