The Legacy of the Great Plague: Model Talk

Talk

Friday 01 August 2025
12:30 - 13:00

Free

Join us for a model talk exploring the history of the 1665 Great Plague of London hosted by Guildhall Library.
The Great Plague of 1665 killed an estimated 100,000 Londoners. Using the London Model to contextualise the outbreak, this model talk will explore the Bills of Mortality held at Guildhall Library, inviting the audience to think about how interpretations of the past have been constructed.

There will be an opportunity to view a variety of original sources and contemporary accounts of the Great Plague of 1665 held in the library.
