Oculus is a temporary urban park for anybody and everyone to rest, recharge and play.
The park - designed by Roz Barr Architects and engineers Ramboll - is the latest in a series of temporary interventions in Store Street's South Crescent testing ideas for the future use of this small but special piece of public realm.
7,000 military-grade sandbags inspired by the WWII Eisenhower Centre at the other end of Alfred Place have transformed what is usually an under-used car park into a temporary urban park. It demonstrates one way in which the space could be used amongst many others if Camden's proposals to remove parking from the Crescent permanently become a reality.
A programme of free events - tai-chi each weekday morning, soap-box talks and performances - will be taking place. Visit
