The FindingYourPlace: the skills needed for a better built environment conference is taking place on Monday 24 June at 14:00-18:00. 

This conference aims to look at talent in the built environment sector both in terms of individual expertise and career trajectories, and the role of cross-disciplinary thinking, and understanding of how skills and services are brought together to deliver a better built environment. This means encouraging conversations about both the usual ‘NextGen’ topics like sustainability and inclusion, and the thornier topics of power, politics and money that shape our sector.

This event brings together professionals from across the built environment, including representatives from NextGen networks from across the industry. We’ll look at the importance of qualifications and technical expertise, interdisciplinary intelligence, the role of collaborators and generalists, and the balance and skills, experience and leadership needed, including through case studies and project examples.
