About the research
Health Creating City examines the role of the built environment in shaping London's future as a health-creating city.
Going beyond traditional healthcare, the research explores how housing, neighbourhoods, transport, public realm, green and blue infrastructure and community facilities can support healthier lives and better outcomes for Londoners.
Reflecting on Sadiq Khan's ten-year mayoral tenure (2016–2026), the report will review the policies that have shaped London's approach to health and wellbeing and examine how the built environment sector has translated these ambitions into practice.
At a time when the NHS 10-Year Plan places prevention and community-based care at its core, the research will highlight the expertise, innovation and collaboration required to reduce health inequalities, strengthen communities and create healthier places for all.
Drawing on industry insight and exemplary case studies, Health Creating City will define the key pillars of a healthy city and showcase projects delivering measurable impact at every scale.
