Hayes Davidson reflect on their annual charity event, HD5K, in honour of late founder Alan Davidson, run in perfect weather on 25 May 2023 in Hyde Park.
This year’s race brought together over 100 architects, professionals, and running enthusiasts from the built environment sector to participate in a run in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association with participants including Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Heatherwick Studio, and Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partner. Simon Smithson - partner at RSHP and Simon Allford - director from AHMM and RIBA president were among this year's racers, as well as Managing Partner David Bullock from Hayes Davidson.
As usual the competition was intense! In the male category, Alec Parcell from Allies and Morrison claimed the top spot with a remarkable time of 17 minutes and 12 seconds. Isabel Bazett from Make Architects was the winning female, completing the race in 21 minutes and 12 seconds. The winners were awarded a ticket to LREF, kindly sponsored by NLA who fielded their own team.
Oliver Reynolds from Takero Shimazaki Architects claimed second place, and Calum Campbell from Heatherwick Studio secured the third position. In the female category, Madeleine Kivell from Allford Hall Monaghan Morris secured second place, followed closely by Suzi Lawrence from London Communications Agency.
HD5K 2023 race and raffle winners received prizes from Ali Tomlin Ceramics, frieze, NLA, and Vitra.
During this year's edition of the HD5K charity event we managed to raise over £35,000 including generous match funding from the Alan Davidson Foundation.
Roddy Langmuir from Cullinan Studio received the fund-raisers prize for the most donations.
Since our inaugural run in 2018, we have raised a total of almost £300,000! We are hugely grateful to all our runners and sponsors for their support. Our
