The NextGen Christmas party on Tuesday 10 December saw young professionals from NLA, CPA and WPA’s NextGen networks come together over mulled wine and mince pies and celebrate the years achievements.
The evening, held at NLA’s home The Building Centre, warmly invited guests in with a gospel choir full of Christmas classics, before Grace Simmonds, NextGen Programme Manager gave a short welcome, thanking longstanding NextGen champions Gardiner & Theobald.
This year the programme has included speed mentoring sessions which brought together young professional with established experts in the industry, working groups where NexGen members discussed issues relevant to them and PechaKucha evenings that featured NextGen professionals presenting their ideas and projects. We also held an evening reception and debate as part of the London Real Estate Forum. Look out for lots more to come in 2020!
The evening continued with an inspiring keynote speech from managing director of Real Estate Balance, Kaela Fenn-Smith, who shared her personal career story while believing in the power of the people in the room to “work together to be the minds and the collective voice for a different future” and a key take away being not to “underestimate your potential”. WPA NextGen Chair, James Burrage gave thanks to the many supporting people and companies and the evening continued with networking and music from DJ Lisa Wright.
