NLA Signs Collaboration Agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Architecture and Design Commission

Tuesday 09 September 2025

NLA has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Architecture and Design Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, strengthening international collaboration in the built environment sector.

The agreement was formalised during the Great Futures event hosted by UK Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds MP, where NLA Chief Executive Nick McKeogh joined Dr. Sumayah Al-Solaiman, CEO of the Architecture and Design Commission, for the signing.

The MoU will enable the exchange of knowledge, skills, and investment between the UK and Saudi Arabia, creating new opportunities for NLA members to engage with key cities and projects in the region.
The partnership will play a central role in the forthcoming Opportunity London visit to Riyadh during Cityscape, and will support a programme of ongoing international dialogue, including:
  • Visiting delegations to The London Centre
  • Engagement with the London Festival of Architecture and London Real Estate Forum
  • Development of the Skills for Places Partnership
  • Next summer’s NLA Built World Summit

Nick McKeogh, Chief Executive of NLA, said:
“This agreement is an exciting step forward in building meaningful connections between London and Saudi Arabia’s built environment sectors. We are delighted to be working closely with the Architecture and Design Commission and look forward to the opportunities this collaboration will bring for our members and partners.”
NLA extends special thanks to Faris Alqathiebi, whose work over the past year has been instrumental in developing the partnership.
