Resilient London: confronting climate change

100 Liverpool Street is the radical redevelopment of an iconic 1980s scheme to
create over 520,000 sq ft of contemporary office space, with retail and public
realm, in the heart of the City. Creatively re-imagining the outdated building rather
than adopting a demolition and new build strategy; the existing substructure and
50 per cent of the existing superstructure was retained, saving over 7,500 tonnes of
carbon. A contemporary aesthetic has been achieved, with a curved glazed facade,
landscaped external terraces, and flexible lobby spaces.
