New London Architecture

99 City Road

Planning Granted

A landmark development for London’s Tech City, that will transform an outdated office building into a 36-storey tower, to provide a high-quality workplace and a vibrant public realm.

The transformation of an outdated office building into a landmark tower, to provide high-quality workplace and a vibrant public realm. The updated and extended building will retain most of the existing structure, enhance the neighbourhood through the provision of a generous public square, and provide dedicated spaces for community use, cultural programming, and curated events. The folded composition of the building design responds to context, minimises wind, and maximises daylight.

This project is featured alongside our Public London: Activating the City insight study. The publication, exhibition and online project directory explore what constitutes a successful and democratic public realm today, the role of co‑creation and partnerships, and how we can ensure that places are fit‑for‑purpose in the long term.
