Replacing a run-down out-rigger to a semi-detached 19th century Georgian property, the new weathering steel extension sits, grounded in a sunken, concrete-lined garden creating a stark but complementary juxtaposition of materials against the London stock brickwork.

Internally the house has been opened up both horizontally and vertically to create a double-height space to the rear which features a monolithic cast in-situ, concrete staircase linking the upper floors with the split-level lower ground floor in which the kitchen, family living spaces form the heart of the home.
