The project provides the town with a best-in-class modern facility as the first stage to its regeneration plan. The local council has also acquired a portion of the properties to sell as affordable housing. A central CHP district heating plant provides the council with a steady source of income
as well as providing the residents and retailers with competitive energy-efficient heating and hot water.
