Shortlisted in the PLACEMAKING category
A bold, mixed-use new district for living and working focused on sensitive integration with the surrounding neighbourhood.

Bankside Yards will redevelop a 1.4 million sq ft area between Blackfriars Bridge and the Tate Modern, replacing two divisive and outdated buildings with a bold, mixed-use district focused on sensitive integration with the surrounding neighbourhood. Centred on a historic railway viaduct, the scheme will open up and reutilise its arches for cultural and retail amenities that will be surrounded by three acres of landscaped public space. New connections to and through the site will be created to allow access to 600 new apartments (affordable and market-rate units), two office buildings and a hotel.
