NEW LONDON AWARDS 2020

Shortlisted in the WORKING category
Located on Paddington Basin, Brunel Building opens up the previously inaccessible Grand Union Canal and was fully let before completion by companies such as Sony Pictures and the Premier League.

Brunel Building is located next to Paddington station on the site of a previous three-storey 1960s office that spanned the Grand Union Canal and filled the whole site with a ground floor carpark. The project represents Derwent London and Fletcher Priest’s desire to invest innovative architectural thinking into workplaces that are fit for the future. The architectural design responds to the challenging nature of a site, constrained by the canal and the Bakerloo Line's shallow tunnel. The result is a lively and sustainable building that has had a transformational impact on the area.
