The overall approach takes the key features of the original house and interprets, adapts and transposes these for the interventions made. The changes of adding built-in furniture, moving walls, changing openings and converting the loft allowed for significant improvements of the house. Whilst being clad in timber the loft facade echoes the window pattern of the house. Externally the loft utilizes natural air-dried English Oak for the cladding and the fins forming the deep reveals for the windows which were made from oiled kiln-dried French Oak.
