Shortlisted in the DWELLING category
This complex home is nestled between rows of terraced houses on a narrow site. The plot was purchased at auction. Both internal rooms and external courtyards are constructed using fair faced blockwork; the material consistency is designed to make interior and exterior spaces feel like a whole. On top of the block base sits a gently sloping timber roof, angled to catch sunlight at different times of the day. Contrasting with the ground floor space, the view from the first floor is expansive- looking out over lush gardens and big skies. Internal fixtures represent the client's personality.
