Nex-’s much anticipated restaurant building on Duke of York Square offers a new leisure destination in the heart of Chelsea, while enhancing the public realm in the midst of the bustling King’s Road.
The spiralling form references the nearby Grade II listed wall of the Duke of York Headquarters, and features pioneering, retractable curved glazing, allowing dining to spill onto the square in fine weather. Above, a public roof garden offers a quiet retreat from the street. The project achieves BREEAM ‘Excellent’ through the use of high-performance materials, heat recycling and natural ventilation of public spaces.
