NEW LONDON AWARDS 2022

NEW LONDON AWARDS 2022

Shortlisted in the RETAIL AND HOSPITALITY category

An environmentally focused new restaurant and shop for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has now opened to the public. Providing 165 internal covers, the new 1,150sq.m net-zero carbon facility was conceived out of a desire by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to enhance the visitor experience for children and their families.

CityAxis led on design development, interior fit out technical design and D&B - following initial design by HOK’s London studio and Mizzi Studios – and brought together a successful delivery team including Mulroy Architects to produce a building of the highest quality, successfully collaborating with RBG Kew to deliver a stimulating and sustainable facility that aligns with Kew’s own commitment to become ‘Climate Positive’ by 2030.

Imaginative front of house restaurant interiors by Mizzi Studios delivered by CityAxis / Firecracker Works aim to teach children about sustainable food production, and retail design by Lumsden Design, complete the picture.

Vote for this project in the ‘People’s Choice Award’. The voting deadline is 1 November 2022.
