Contemporary yet timeless, Fleet House is conceived as an exercise in urban repair within the rich historic context of Hampstead Village. Stanton Williams addressed the disrupted streetscape of Admiral’s Walk by re-establishing lost historic boundaries, while taking inspiration from the high brick walls and Georgian houses typical for the area. Acting as an inhabited boundary wall, the house offers a strong yet calm new presence on the street, while creating a serene retreat for domestic rituals. Sustainability is an integral part of the design – from robust energy efficiency to future-proof strategies.
