NEW LONDON AWARDS 2020

Shortlisted in the ENVIRONMENTAL PRIZE

On a highly constrained backland South London site, the project showcases in2space Housing’s 49m2 one bed and 70m2 two bed innovative low carbon houses, designed to unlock small difficult urban sites.

Built on a highly constrained small back-land site: An irregular plot; restrictive covenants; difficult access; biodiversity, flood risk & archaeology issues; adjacency to railways; multiple neighbours. The concept is designed to be adaptable with minimal change to allow replication on similarly difficult sites. The project is a synergy of existing robust MMCs and an innovative (UK first) low carbon air source heat pump + PV system for heating, hot water & power, illustrated by the as-built EPC ‘A’ Rating / 99 per cent score.
